ABOUT

I grew up in Topley, BC, before moving to Burns Lake for high school and eventually settling in Prince George. My early career was rooted in the driving industry — from operating gravel trucks in logging camps to becoming a driving instructor, and later working with ICBC as a driver examiner. That role took me across Northern BC, giving me the chance to explore our region’s backroads, meet incredible people, and develop a deep appreciation for the communities that make this area so special.

 

Alongside that career, I began investing in real estate, building a portfolio of rental properties and gaining hands‑on experience as a landlord. Managing and maintaining those properties gave me a practical understanding of how homes function, what buyers look for, and how presentation impacts value.

My path eventually led me into real estate itself, where I spent several successful years as a licensed REALTOR®. That experience sparked something bigger — a passion for photography, marketing, and the creative side of showcasing homes. I discovered how powerful strong visuals and storytelling can be in helping clients connect with a property, and that passion ultimately grew into Katherine Martens Creative Edge.

Today, I combine my real estate background, marketing experience, and love for visual storytelling to help businesses and homeowners elevate their brand presence. Whether I’m photographing a listing, creating social media content, or designing print materials, my goal is always the same: to capture the heart of the story and present it with clarity, warmth, and intention.

Community involvement remains a big part of my life. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll often find me volunteering, supporting local events, or out on the trails with my family and dogs — soaking in the beauty of Northern BC. I also work at the local vet clinic here in Vanderhoof, which keeps me connected to the community in a meaningful, hands‑on way.

 

As our region continues to evolve — with shifting industries and changing communities — strong visual storytelling has become essential. I’m passionate about helping homeowners and real estate professionals present their properties with authenticity, warmth, and impact.
